From the manufacturer:
Fabric Medium:
- Enhances blending and workability of acrylics on textiles and unprimed canvas
- Improves adhesion, color penetration, flexibility, and reduces dry paint stiffness
- Controls color bleeding
- Gives a consistently even, smooth application
- Can be machine or hand-washed once dry
- For best results mix in a 1:1 ratio with Soft Body Acrylic, add more if using Heavy Body to get your desired consistency
- For watercolor effects use 5 parts medium to 1 part Soft Body
- Stir gently to avoid creating foam - if bubbles appear, leave it to sit while the bubbles rise and disappear
- Paint on with brush, roller etc, using a thin layer to avoid cracking
- Can be added directly to textile when paint is still wet to blend color. No need to iron to set.
Gloss Pouring Medium:
- For smooth, wet look pours with a high gloss finish.
- Can be mixed with any acrylic paint to get smooth, even colour films without increasing the transparency of the colour. Extends your color further without affecting acrylic stability
- Resistant to aging - the medium does not yellow, dries waterproof, remains flexible after drying and maintains a strong finish.
- Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality
- Watering applications - it prevents hair cracks and bubbles in drip and pouring applications, even with puddles and acrylic skins.
- Formulated to create a smooth, seamless, and strong body of paint when poured or dripped onto a surface.
- Designed to increase flow, eliminate crazing, and to give a high gloss flexible finish.
- For best pours, start with with a tablespoon of Soft Body color to a cup of Pouring Medium (around 5% color to 95% medium) and adapt to suit your technique. To use with Acrylic Ink or Heavy Body Acrylic, adjust ratio to get your desired consistency.
- Stir gently to avoid creating foam - if bubbles appear, leave it to sit while the bubbles rise and disappear
- Crazing and cracking can occur when the flow heights are very uneven so ensure your poured surface is level when drying.
Slow-Dri Medium:
- Extends the open time of your color/medium by 40% so it is blendable and workable for longer
- Extends your color further without affecting acrylic stability
- Gives softer edges and great color blends. Increases transparency
- Lowers viscosity of heavier body paints, giving increased flow
- Increases surface gloss, color depth and transparency
- Mix as much as you like into acrylic color/medium to create the viscosity and transparency you want - the more you add, the thinner and more transparent your color will become
- Can be thined by diluting with up to 25% water - distilled water will give best results
- Stir gently to avoid creating foam - if bubbles appear, leave it to sit while the bubbles rise and disappear
- If you're working over a long period of time, mix into color on the palette to keep it fresh and skin-free for longer
- This is semi-opaque when wet, transparent when dry.
Flow-Aid:
- Breaks water tension to improve flow and lower viscosity
- Gives a smooth finish with less brush strokes due to reduced surface friction
- Increases transparency and makes color more absorbent and blendable
- Do not use Flow Aid undiluted as it results in poor acrylic adhesion, cracking, tackiness and water sensitivity
- Fully intermixable with all Liquitex products
- First dilute your concentrated Flow Aid with water - 1 part Flow Aid to 20 parts water - distilled water will give the best results. Use 1 part Flow Aid to 10 parts water if you want a more concentrated effect
- Add up to 25% of diluted Flow Aid to your color/medium and stir slowly to avoid foaming. If it does foam, leave it to sit while the foam disappears
- If applying to an absorbent surface, your color/medium will sink in like a stain or dye; if using on a non-absorbent surface your color/medium will be more fluid and take longer to dry
- As this is an additive – with no acrylic binders - do not add more than 25% to your color/medium and do not mix with other additives. This can cause excessive shrinkage, cracking and the acrylic film to break down
- Do not shake or stir too vigorously as foam will form
